The Internal Magnetic Switch Solenoid (IMSS) is an integrated, patent-pending design that improves reliability and simplifies starter wiring. Unlike a conventional magnetic switch mounted externally, IMSS integrates the switch inside the solenoid. Input current can be controlled by the engine control module (ECM) and the switch is protected from voltage spikes, corrosion and vibration.
