Overcrank Protection (OCP) is a built-in circuit breaker available on 41MT, 42MT and 39MT starters. OCP protects the starter from excessive heat during cranking.
In conditions such as cold weather, low battery capacity, high circuit resistance or operator misuse, the motor can overheat. OCP interrupts current flow when the starter reaches a critical temperature and automatically resets once it cools to a safe level.
