Overview
The Delco Remy 29MT is a medium-duty gear-reduction starter that established itself as one of the most widely deployed starters in the commercial vehicle industry, with over 1.25 million OE installations worldwide. Available in 12V (2.9 kW) and 24V (4.0 kW) configurations, it serves engines up to 6.5 litres and is ideally suited for Class 5–7 medium-duty trucks, school buses, and shuttle vehicles. Its planetary gear set delivers reliable cranking torque from a compact, lightweight package of just 8.4 kg. The 29MT platform was so successful that it formed the basis for the next-generation 31MT, which extends coverage to 9-litre engines.
